AMC Boston Ski Committee

If you are interested in skiing or snowboarding, this is the place for you!

We are a group of people interested in snow sports, in learning, doing, and sharing their skills and experiences, and would love to have you be part of it. Whether you ski or ride in resorts or in the backcountry, on XC, alpine, telemark, or snowboard please take a look around. We look forward to seeing you at a committee meeting, social, workshop, or ski trip! Need to get in touch with someone in the Ski committee? Email us here.

You can find out more about all the Trips and Workshops we offer or about ways to Get Involved with the Ski Committee. If you are a Leader, or would like to become one, there is useful info for you here too.

The Ski Committee has also been partnering with NESFL (New England Ski For Light) and helping with their wonderful ski trips for the visually impaired. Find out more, and get involved with that partnership here.

It is important to be safe when traveling in snow covered mountains, find out about avalanche education opportunities here.

Ski Committee Activities

Ski Trips “In the Works” Click here for a sheet of ski trips “in the works” by leaders and associate leaders. For leaders and associate leaders, please enter your name into the yellow highlighted trips that you can lead and email the leaders. For participants, please don’t edit the sheet, but this is shared so that you know what leaders are working on!

Do you want to setup a “push email” of trips that you are interested in? This can be a daily, weekly, or monthly push email to you that pulls trips from the clubs database that meet your criteria! This is a powerful feature that the AMC calls a “digest” but its a bit hidden on the club’s website. For detailed direct please click on the below adobe document “How to Setup an AMC Digest”.

Get Involved

The Ski Committee is a volunteer group of snow minded people who want to bring the fun of winter outdoors activities to others. We are always looking for new people to get invovled and would welcome you to our group.

Ski Committee Meetings

The Ski Committee is the place to become involved with active skiers. The Committee oversees ski trips, workshops, socials, and a web page. Skiers and riders of all abilities are always welcome to be part of these meetings, and help keep our programs fresh and exciting. Meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month at various locations. If you would you like to get involved in the Ski Committee we would love to see you at our meetings!

If you wish to attend please e-mail us for meeting location and details.

Trip Leader/Co-leader

Our volunteer Trip Leaders and Co-Leaders are the heart of the Ski Committee, these are the folks who make all the exciting trips and workshops we offer possible. The more leaders we have, the more fun we can offer, so if you have ever thought of becoming a Leader or Co-Leader this is the season to do it! Check out the Leader Info page for more details and some of the incentives we have to help people become leaders.

The Ski Committee has a long tradition of offering instructional opportunities so that people can learn new skiing and skiing related skills. If you like teaching we would love to have you help out. Send us an e-mail with your thoughts.
