Mountains & Music | A Typical Weekend |Our History
The Mountains and Music Committee of AMC’s Boston Chapter brings together
participants of all ages who share a love of classical instrumental music and the outdoors for two weekends each year to combine music-making and outdoor activities. Instrumentalists choose music from the extensive AMC music library or bring music from home.
The weekend trips are held at Potash Hill in Marlboro, Vermont, near Brattleboro, on the campus of the Marlboro Music festival and former location of Marlboro College. This site is perfect for Mountains and Music. The site boasts a combination of single and double dorm rooms, a dining hall with food catered by the Brattleboro Food Coop, beautiful large practice rooms and many trails – groomed for skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. We hope you will join us for a weekend. The only pre-requisite is sight-reading ability on your instrumental part. Listeners are always welcome!

Mission Statement
AMC Boston Mountains & Music is a group of outdoor enthusiasts and musicians who organize day and weekend retreats for instrumental musicians. In addition to instrumental, chamber, and orchestral ensembles, there are opportunities to participate in seasonal outdoor activities.
