Do you like hiking? Do you like hanging out with friends by a fireplace, drinking hot cocoa, eating good food? Then this is the weekend hiking trip for you! We will be offering hiking at various levels both Saturday and Sunday. We have rented out the entire Notch Hostel which includes a common room, a small library (with information about the area, games, and books about hikes and hiking), dining room, bed with clean bedding in the shared bunk room, full kitchen, plus shower rooms and toilets. Delicious meals will be provided and are served family-style in a warm, social atmosphere.

Casey leads trips year around for the hiking/backpacking committee of the AMC Boston Chapter. He is heavily engaged in the H/B leadership and training programs such as Spring/Fall Leadership Training as well as our educational programs in the Spring and Winter Hiking Programs. Like other hikers that hike before sun up and after sun down and do 20+ miles, Casey likes to do the same only keep it under 10 miles :) He's experienced but not a speed daemon

Alex enjoys hiking in all seasons. While best known for fast-paced single day, multi-peak mega-hikes and gnarly back country bushwhacks, he will enjoy sharing his love for the mountains just about anywhere, with hikers at all ability levels.

Justin can be found hiking year-round in the White Mountains. He completed the 48 NH 4000 footers in 2017 and is currently pursuing the Terrifying 25 list. Other interests include running, bicycling and golfing.

Winter Hike to Mt Carrigain

Join us for a winter hike to the summit tower of Mt Carrigain, and enjoy the view from its summit tower. We'll maintain a moderate pace, but this trip requires you to be in good physical condition, due to its length and net climb. Due to normal winter road closures, this will be a long and scenic 14 mile hike, with a 2 mile (each way) road to the summer trailhead. Depending on conditions, and the size of our group, there's a good chance we'll need our headlamps on the way out.

Family Ski Weekend at Pinestead Lodge in Franconia

Family ski weekend based at the comfortable but rustic Pinestead Farm Lodge in Franconia, NH. We have several simple "suites" of rooms with shared bath and kitchen facilities. Breakfast and dinner are group events at the lodge. Lunch materials are provided. Pinestead is 10 minutes from Cannon Mountain and 5 minutes from the XC ski trails at the Franconia Inn. Bretton Woods Alpine and XC areas are about 45 minutes away.

Family Sub Sig (White Mountains NH) XC Ski and/or hiking weekend

Join us for a weekend at Sub Sig Cabin in Hart's location in Crawford Notch, NH down the road from AMC Highland Center. This is a half century old hidden jewel …in fact it is called Hart's location and the cabin (Sub Sig) is rustic, but comfy with an outhouse ( yeah) and hauled in water. We will plan a hike choice both Saturday and Sunday as well as group breakfasts and a supper prepared by us all on Saturday evening. Trip is recommended for families with kids ages 7 and up. Group size limited to 12 lucky souls.

Family AMC Lonesome Lake Hut Memorial Day Weekend, Franconia Notch, NH

Are you and your family ready for the fun and adventure of staying overnight at an AMC hut and summiting a New Hampshire 4000 footer? Spend two nights at the family-friendly Lonesome Lake hut, one of the most accessible in the Whites, and summit North Kinsman or Cannon on the second day. On Saturday we will hike 1.6 miles (and gain 1000' vertical feet) to the hut at a kid friendly pace. The route crosses 2 bridges and features a few mild rock scrambles, and the incline is moderated by switchbacks. Along the way, we will stop for snacks, look at nature and enjoy the views.

The 54th annual NH Presidential Range hike is a strenuous and wonderful 9-day hut-to-hut group hiking adventure amid some of the most spectacular peaks in the New Hampshire's rugged White Mountains! Depending on the daily hike options you choose, you will total between 42 and 61 miles, gain 15,000'-22,000' of elevation, and summit between 12 and 24 high peaks, 18 of which are on the official AMC 4000 footer list. Four AMC leaders and max 21 hikers. We hike in small groups averaging 5-7 people based on each day's chosen route options and paces.
