Enjoy the "gentle giant," Mt. Moosilauke. This westernmost of the NH 4000-footers provides great views from the summit ridge, when the weather cooperates. We'll extend our time above treeline with a side trip to the south peak (on the Trailwrights 72 list) for a total of 8.2mi of hiking and 3400' of climb. The group will move at a moderate but relentless pace, with about 3mi exposed to the weather, so previous above-treeline winter experience is a must. This is a great opportunity for those with some experience to have a longer day out in the wind.
Jon finished a round of the New England Hundred Highest just before heading off to the Southwest for four years. He's thrilled to be back in New England and working seriously on the winter 4000-footers. Other fun had in the meantime includes the Pikes Peak Marathon and a rim-to-rim-to-rim run of the Grand Canyon. Goal-oriented but interested in keeping things safe and fun.
