Ascend Mount Moosilauke (4802') by way of the Beaver Brook trail, the steepest route located on the northeast side. This 7.6 mile hike will ascend 3274 feet of elevation gain. We will also make a stop at the nearby peak Mount Blue, one of the trailwright peaks, via a short herd path. A mountaintop lunch will be had, however in case of inclement weather the Beaver Brook shelter is halfway up the mountain will be a safe stopping point. This is an out and back hike on steep terrain. Participants should be comfortable with heights and have recent hiking experience in the Whites.
I love to hike and backpack, and lead all kinds of trips from beginner, to extra-long day hikes like a single day presi traverse, to multi-day backpacks and bushwhacks. I even lead trips overseas for the Adventure travel committee. It's all good! I've hiked the 100 Highest peaks in NE, the NH 4000 footers in winter, and hope to someday hike a long trail like the PCT or the AT.
