Working on the NH 48, NE 67 or 52 WAV? This hike has something for you! This is a great opportunity to take a group trip over one of the more distant peaks of the White Mountains. We'll take a steady pace over Mt. Cabot (NH 48) and make our way over to The Bulge (NE 67) and The Horn (NE 67 + 52 WAV), pausing along the way for plenty of water breaks and lunch. While this is one of the "easier" 4,000 footers for those of you just starting out, it is still a strenuous hike. While not known for its views, the trail is pleasant with gentle grades and plenty of scenery to enjoy. Is this hike for you? This is the perfect opportunity to take your hiking to the next level, particularly if you're just starting to experience hiking in the White Mountains. It will "step up" your distance and elevation gain endurance without overwhelming. Fast hikers beware: we'll plan to take a steady approach here, aiming for book time (7h30m). Please note: due to the driving distance from Boston, leaders strongly encourage staying overnight in a nearby hostel or motel (please ask us for recommendations!). Since the Fish Hatchery gate is locked at 4 PM, you should anticipate an early start in order to finish on time.
