Join Family Outings and H/B to hike the Mount Morgan (2220')/Mount Percival (2212') loop (~ 5.3 miles; 1575 feet of elevation gain). This hike is appropriate for kids and adults ages 8+ with some hiking experience on open rocky ledges. We will hike open ledges, cliff tops, rock scrambles and possibly some small caves. We will not be climbing the ladders section of the trail due to its difficulty. The path we will be taking is moderate to steep.
We will start and end at the Mount Percival Trailhead. We will take the Morgan-Percival Connector, Mount Morgan Trail, Crawford-Ridgepole Trail, and Mount Percival Trail. We will hike at a moderate pace enjoying the views and lunch on Mount Percival. Total outing time, including lunch and breaks, should be about 5 - 6 hours.
Dangerous weather conditions cancel. By now, the snow has melted on both peaks so that micro spikes are not required. We do require, however, hiking boots with good traction. Registrar/Leader Peter Monnes, firstname.lastname@example.org.
