Join us on a late March traverse from Mt. Lincoln to Mt. Garfield. We will ascend the Falling Waters trail, hike the scenic Franconia Ridge and then the lesser used Garfield Ridge Trail to Mt. Garfield. We will exit on the Garfield Trail and hike to the Gale River road to our pre-positioned cars.
The views on the ridge, down Lafayette, and from Garfield are spectacular. The Garfield Ridge Trail may be new to you to explore. Trail conditions from Lafayette to Garfield will depend on use and snow conditions. You must be an experienced winter hiker with above treeline experience and endurance to hike the 14.5 miles with 5212 ft elevation gain in approximately 12+ hours.
