A4C, Carter-Moriah Trail work volunteer opportunity.
Have you enjoyed your summer in the outdoors? Here is your chance to pay it back. Come spend the day hiking Mt. Moriah and learning basic trail work. We will concentrate on "putting the trail to bed for the winter" by clearing the water bars of fallen foliage to allow for spring drainage and clearing brush to make head room for people on snow shoes on a base of snow. This is a great chance to hike a 4000 footer with a great view of the presidential while giving something back to the trails. Skills, tools and trail snacks provided by leader.
Mt. Moriah is a 4000 footer, rt: 9.0 miles, 3,550 feet, gentle trail with good footing. Bring your ten essionals, sturdy boots, and eye protection. Group dinner to follow, possibility of a Sunday Day hike for those wishing to remain overnight.
Contact the Co-Leader, Ozzy, if you are interested in staying in the North Country over night and doing a day hike on Sunday.
