This trip is rarely offered, and given the logistics involved, is a great opportunity to experience a remote and rugged part of the Long Trail. On Thursday night, we will spot cars, eat dinner, and distribute the group gear. Over the next three days, we will hike thirty miles over Jay Peak and Haystack Mountains, along with some very challenging terrain. We will overnight at Hazen's Notch and Laura Woodard shelters, cooking and eating group dinners. This is not an easy backpack, due to the rugged trail conditions. You want to be in quite good shape for this trip, and also be comfortable with your gear. That being said, for those who are up to this trip, this is a neat chance to get out for a couple of days in beautiful northern Vermont!
