Celebrate the start of Spring hiking season with a hike in the Belknap Range of southern New Hampshire! On this trip, we'll visit Mount Anna, both summits of Quarry mountain, and Straightback Mountain (with great views of the Lakes region). This is a loop hike, covering about 6.4 miles with 1500 feet of elevation gain, with an optional add-on if the group wants to extend the day. We're planning to hike at a moderate pace (about 1.5mi/hour net). Note that we plan on hiking with masks on and keeping the group size small. Full gear list in "Related links". Space is limited so be sure to keep up-to-date on registration emails; note the number of spots taken does not include those who have submitted this form but not completed registration. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
Jon finished a round of the New England Hundred Highest just before heading off to the Southwest for four years. He's thrilled to be back in New England and working seriously on the winter 4000-footers. Other fun had in the meantime includes the Pikes Peak Marathon and a rim-to-rim-to-rim run of the Grand Canyon. Goal-oriented but interested in keeping things safe and fun.
