WHP Participants: Please join Jess for an instructional winter hike along the ledges above Millers River and to the site of a former hermit habitation in Erving, MA. The route will take us along approximately 6-8 miles of forest, ledge, streamside, and to rock formations formerly occupied by a 19th century hermit. As snow and ice conditions allow, we'll practice using traction devices and heat management techniques. Winter boots, winter layers, and microspikes are required; snow conditions may also make snowshoes necessary.
To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
