AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. Join us for a presentation from Ty Gagne on his latest book 'The Last Traverse: Tragedy and Resilience in the Winter Whites' - an epic account of two hikers who get caught in a winter storm atop New Hampshire's Franconia Ridge and the bravery and selflessness of the volunteers and professionals who willingly put themselves in harm's way to try and save them. This is a cautionary tale for anyone who hikes the White Mountains in winter.
The presentation will begin at 7:00 PM and will last approximately 1 hour.

Elizabeth Ryan is a four-season hiking and backpacking leader with the AMC's Boston Chapter and Adventure Travel. She has completed the New Hampshire 4000 footers, hiked in the Baxter park area and explored some of the glaciated North-west peaks. International trips include hiking in the Scottish Highlands, Newfoundland, Iceland and New Zealand.

Keith J Watling

Keith is an experienced 4-season leader with the Hiking/Backpacking section of the AMC's Boston Chapter. He has completed over 500 summits of the 48 New Hampshire Four Thousand Footers, including over 100 in winter.
