The beautiful Belknap Mountain Range is situated West of Lake Winnipesaukee. Our goal is to hike the principal peaks on the main ridge including Mt. Rowe (1,690 ft.), Gunstock Mtn. (2,250 ft.), Piper Mtn. (2,044 ft.) and Belknap Mtn. (2,382 ft. ) in a rough loop. The route offers great views of Lake Winnipesaukee, the Ossipee and Sandwich ranges, and Mt. Washington.
We will hike 8.2 miles at a moderate pace and with a total elevation gain of approximately 2500 ft. Plan to spend a full day hiking. Portions of this hike may be rocky, icy and exposed to the wind. Micro-spikes are strongly recommended and may be required depending on conditions. Expect to wear your mask in the parking lot, when passing others on the trail and when social distancing is not possible. The leaders will ask that the group maintain social distancing when stopping at breaks so fellow hikers can get a drink or snack as needed. The hike is limited to 6 people total, so please keep your reservations up-to-date.
To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
