Camden Day 3B: Seaside to Farmland Ride October 4th, 2020.
Strenuous 37 mile (14+mph)

Are you craving a safe, fun, regional cycling adventure with new and old AMC friends? Join us on this strenuous 37 mile loop around Lake Megunticook, underneath the rock cliffs of Camden Hills State Park, and past farms and villages. You may buy a takeout lunch at the Lincolnville General Store, which has the best front porch and salted chocolate chip cookies around.

This ride is designed to be done in conjunction with companion listed rides for Friday and Saturday 10/2 and 10/3, so that we can experience three days of cycling comradery, while enjoying the breathtaking views of Midcoast Maine. You must sign up for each day's ride individually. Each day we will offer 2 ride options: one a moderate 12-13 pace averaging 22 miles with elevation gains of 1500 ft, and an advanced ride of 14+ with a range of 30-40 miles with elevation gains above 2300 ft. Most roads are pavement, but some scenic roads are packed dirt.

Friday's rides will include a loop from Camden to Rockport, Saturday we will take a ferry to bike around North Haven Island. See the listings for Friday and Saturday's rides for more details.

Overnight lodging arrangements are your responsibility, though we recommend booking with the Camden Riverhouse Hotel and Inn under the AMC group name, as we are using the Inn as our "base of operations". The Camden Riverhouse Hotel is offering rooms at $162.41 per room per night (single or double occupancy) which includes a 9% lodging tax. You are free to find other accommodations if you desire of course!

After each day's rides, you are invited to meet for an outdoor Happy Hour at the Inn or harbor (BYOB), or enjoy the town of Camden on your own. For dinner, Midcoast Maine is known for excellent dining, so you may make arrangements to eat at popular area restaurants; the leaders will facilitate dining, but there isn't a "set" group dinner. Outdoor dining is available. For breakfast, the Camden Riverhouse hotel provides boxed breakfasts for those who stay there.

AMC's Covid-19 guidelines limit participation to groups of 10 for each ride; we are offering two rides per day. Sign-up for each ride in advance at is required. We will be following all Covid-19 guidelines as instructed by the states of Maine and Massachusetts as well as the AMC at the time of the trip - and it's the participants' responsibility to adhere to them. Since participants are self-paying for all lodging and all meals, there are no AMC fees for this event.

Other Sunday Ride: moderate (12-13 mph) 22.4 mile ride.
