Family Hike to Wachusett Mtn, Princeton, MA (BHP Level 2)

In support of the national effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to minimize the risks to the most vulnerable among us, AMC will immediately begin the process of temporarily closing all lodging and foodservice facilities and suspending all in-person staff and volunteer led programming through April 30.

Trip dates: Saturday, May 16, 2020 9:30 AM to 12:00 AM

Join other families for a leisurely-to-moderate hike to the summit of Wachusett Mountain! The hike is approximately 3 miles and 800ft elevation gain over rocky terrain. On a clear day, 360-degree views from the summit and tower are lovely! This hike is open to families new to hiking but who are in good physical shape and able to be on the trail for 3-4 hours (including snack/water breaks). Recommended for active 5yo's and up. Often known as a downhill ski destination, Wachusett Mtn is located within the 3000-acre Wachusett State Reservation, home to 17 miles of hiking trails. Pack a lunch and join us for a beautiful spring hike!

This hike is part of the AMC Family Beginner Hiking Program (BHP). We encourage you to sign up for BHP if you have not already, however, you aren't required to be part of the program to go on this hike. To find out more about BHP, please cut and paste this link into your browser:
