Join the Wednesday Wramblers for a 5.5 mile hike in Borderland State Park, Easton MA. This park features woods, several ponds and the remains of an old quarry. The Ames Mansion is an historic house on the property. The interior of the mansion was used to film scenes in the recent movie "Knives Out'. Our hike will skirt several ponds and take us up into the area where the old quarry was located. This hike is rated as moderate with only 387 feet of elevation gain.
We will meet at 9:45 for a prompt 10:00 AM start. We will hike at a leisurely pace for about 3 hours and be back by 1:00 PM. We will meet at the park visitor center at 259 Massapoag Avenue, North Easton. The visitor center has restrooms and a lovely fireplace. Parking is $5.00 for MA residents and free if you have a lifetime senior pass for the state parks.
Please come prepared with layers appropriate for the weather, water and lunch/snacks. If there is snow and ice on the trails on the day of the hike we will require microspikes or other traction devices. We will have a snack break on the trail but we will return to the visitor center and enjoy lunch by the fire.
Registration is required through REGI so we can ensure a reasonable group size and we will send out an email with last minute information or weather-related changes.
No dogs please except for service animals.
