Join the Wednesday Wramblers for a 5 mile hike through the Rocky Woods Reservation in Medfield MA. This 491 acre property is owned by the Trustees of Reservations (TTOR) and features ponds with evidence of beaver activity, wetlands, logging roads and woods. We will be treated to views of the surrounding area from the top of Cedar Hill. This hike has only 564 feet of elevation gain and although the woods are rocky the trails are not.
We will meet at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM start. We will hike for approximately 3 hours at a pace of 2.0-2.3 mph. Please use the TTOR website (http://www.thetrustees.org) to obtain the coordinates for use in your GPS as there isn't a street address available. Parking is free if you are a TTOR member but $5.00 for non-members. A parking pass can be obtained from the kiosks in the parking lot. We will meet in the first parking lot off of the entrance drive. There are restrooms behind the visitor center.
Please come prepared with layers appropriate for the weather, water and snacks. If there is snow and ice on the trails the day of the hike we will require micro spikes or other suitable traction devices. We will have a snack break and for those who have the time and inclination, we will convene after the hike for lunch, coffee or other refreshments at the Blue Moon Bagel Cafe at 236 Main Street, Medfield.
Registration is required through REGI so we can ensure a reasonable group size and we will send out an email with last minute information or weather-related changes. No dogs please except for service animals.
