Winter Backpack in the Carter Range

Trip dates: Saturday, February 8, 2020 12:00 AM to Sunday, February 9, 2020 12:00 AM

If you are ready for an awesome winter adventure, read on. How does a February weekend hiking three 4Ks and camping out off the Carter Moriah Trail sound? On the first day, we will hike 9 miles tagging South and Middle Carters before settling in at Imp Campsite for the night. Sunday we'll wake early to cook a warm breakfast and melt snow for our water before hiking to Mt. Moriah and out of the woods for a total of 6 miles. At a minimum, you will need the usual winter hiking equipment, a -20 degree bag or equivalent, and your own meals to participate in this adventure. We can share tents, stoves, and some other equipment.
