Join us on a 6.5 mile hike to Mount Kearsarge (North) and weather permitting we will catch magnificent 360 degree vistas, including views of the Presidentials and Mt Washington Valley. At the top we can climb the inactive summit fire tower, which offers fantastic views of eastern White Mountains and western Maine. Mount Kearsarge stands at 3268 feet and is on the "52 with a view" list of NH mountains <4000 ft with a view. This view is well known as rivaling many of the >4000 ft peaks! With an elevation gain of 2,600 ft. in just over 3 miles the trail is quite steep. Participants should expect to hike at a moderate pace through a pretty pine forest before the final ascent to the bald summit which is typically quite icy. Full Winter gear, including microspikes and snowshoes, is required. Poles are recommended.
