Winter Hike to Cannon Mountain and Lonesome Lake

In support of the national effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to minimize the risks to the most vulnerable among us, AMC will immediately begin the process of temporarily closing all lodging and foodservice facilities and suspending all in-person staff and volunteer led programming through April 30.

Trip dates: Sunday, March 8, 2020 12:00 AM

Join us on a 6.2 mile hike to Cannon Mountain (4,100ft), one of the 48 NH 4,000ft peaks. If the weather is clear we can expect great views across the Franconia Range. Participants should expect to hike at a moderate pace with an elevation gain of 2,400 ft and some limited above tree line exposure near the summit. The summit can be cold and windy. Our route will take us by Lonesome Lake, which affords fine views of North and South Kinsman on a clear day. Full Winter gear, including microspikes and snowshoes, is required. Poles are recommended.
