Winter Hike to Middle Carter and Imp Face

In support of the national effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to minimize the risks to the most vulnerable among us, AMC will immediately begin the process of temporarily closing all lodging and foodservice facilities and suspending all in-person staff and volunteer led programming through April 30.

Trip dates: Saturday, March 14, 2020 12:00 AM

Join us on a 10 mile hike to the 4610ft summit of Middle Carter Mountain, one of the 48 NH 4,000ft peaks. While the summit is wooded, we can expect nice views of the Presidential Range from the ridge. Our route will also take us to the Imp Face Cliff, which offers outstanding views of Pinkham Notch on clear days. Participants should expect to hike at a moderate pace with an elevation gain of 3500 ft. Full winter gear, including microspikes and snowshoes, is required. Poles are recommended.
