Trip dates: Friday, January 17, 2020 12:00 AM to Sunday, January 19, 2020 12:00 AM

Sitting at the Southwestern end of the Macintyre Mountain range in the Adirondack Eastern High Peaks , Mt Marshall rises to 4,360' above the flowed lands and Lake Colden. Whether you need this 46er in the winter, or whether you're just looking to visit some cool new mountains, come join our AMC chapter trip as we venture out for an overnight winter adventure! This 3-day / 2-night backpack will approach from Henderson Lake, setting up base camp on the southwest shores of Lake Colden (lean-tos/campsite). From there we will have access to trail to the summit of Mt Marshall. Depending on trail conditions and time/energy/ambition, our base camp allows access to several other peaks! The difficulty of this trip will vary depending on the trail conditions - whether the trail has been broken out, ice, etc - and whether or not we choose to ascend additional peaks. By the numbers: Day 1 ~5.5 miles, 1,250' elevation gain; Day 2 ~4.6 miles, 2,050' elevation gain and Day 3 ~5.5 miles back out the way we came.
