LETS HIKE PLAISTOW TOWN FOREST IN PLAISTOW NEW HAMPSHIRE

Trip dates: Saturday, November 9, 2019 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

We'll hike about 4 miles exploring this wonderful forest that is tucked away in northwest Plaistow New Hampshire. The Plaistow Town Forest is adjacent to conservation land in Hampstead NH, which extends the hiking opportunities. Many large white pines populate this woodland, and the forest wraps around a heronry that presents a sharp contrast to the forest that surrounds it. Kelly Brook, which winds through threw the forest, is a clear and cool stream that is lined by hemlock trees. The Plaistow Town Forest is just over the border from Massachusetts border, and should be well worth the trip. If the weather forecast holds, look for a cold but sunny day for hiking. From Rte. 495 North, take Exit 51B toward Plaistow NH. Follow Rte. 125 north for 3.5 miles, then take a left onto Rte. 121A. Follow Rte. 121A for about 2 miles where Plaistow Town Forest parking area will be on the left.
