This trip is part of the Boston Chapter Winter Hiking Program (WHP) and is only open to registered participants of that program. If you would like more information about the WHP, please email us at whp19@hb.amcboston.org or follow the link below.
The objective of this hike will be to give WHP participants experience in hiking a White Mountain four thousand footer in winter conditions. Attention will focus on gear layering, appropriate food and fluid intake and, hopefully, the use of foot traction, including microspikes and snowshoes. This hike is open to all participants of the Winter Hiking Program. It is an excellent opportunity to use new skills, test gear and physical ability while getting to know other hikers in a pleasant and educational setting. Experienced leaders will assist with winter techniques and questions about hiking, and the Appalachian Mountain Club itself. Round trip of approximately 5 miles with an elevation gain of 2,300 ft.
