This trip is part of the Boston Chapter Winter Hiking Program (WHP) and is only open to registered participants of that program. If you would like more information about the WHP, please email us at whp19@hb.amcboston.org or follow the link below.
This hike is open to all participants of the Winter Hiking Program. It is an excellent opportunity to use new skills, test gear and physical ability while getting to know other hikers in a pleasant and educational setting. Experienced leaders will assist with winter techniques and questions about hiking, and the Appalachian Mountain Club itself. Mt Jackson's elevation is 4,052 feet with a moderately steep trail. The trailhead begins in Crawford Notch across from the Highland Center. The hike is just over 5 miles (round trip) with 2,100 feet of elevation gain. We plan on a comfortable pace and hiking time will vary depending on the group, weather, and trail conditions.
