Trip dates: Saturday, November 16, 2019 12:00 AM

Join Young Members leaders Samantha & Kanishk on a 9.2 mile traverse of the gorgeous Moats! We'll traverse the South, Middle and North Moat mountains. This is one of the most scenic hikes in the Whites, and despite being on the 52 With a View list (South Moat at 2770 ft and North Moat at 3196 ft), the trail is as difficult/varied as many 4,000 footers. If the weather is clear we can expect great vistas across the Saco River Valley including Mt Washington. Participants should expect to hike on the fast side of moderate with an elevation gain of 2,500 ft and some steep sections on the descent. This is a shoulder season hike, so there's a possibility the leaders may require microspikes. Hikers should have good physical fitness, recent NH hiking experience of at least 7-8 miles, and be prepared for cold weather.
This hike involves a car spot.
