The AMC Boston Chapter Mountaineering Committee plans to offer its annual Ice Program in Winter 2020. The Ice Program is an immersive, 40-hour, 100% volunteer-run instructional program designed to teach waterfall ice climbing to students with Class 5 outdoor rock climbing skills and winter sports experience. The Ice Program is a fun, inclusive, community-oriented experience that enables students to learn safe, efficient ice climbing techniques and practices in a supportive environment.
The Ice Program begins with a free informational lecture at Arc'teryx Newbury Street (352 Newbury Street, Boston, MA) on Wednesday, December 4th 2019 at 7:00 pm. Attendance at this first lecture is mandatory for all prospective students. Students admitted to the Ice Program will receive two evenings of instruction on Wednesday January 8th 2020 and Wednesday February 5th 2020, both at Arc'teryx Newbury Street. Admitted students also receive two hands-on weekends of instruction in the White Mountains of New Hampshire January 24-26, 2020 and February 7-9, 2020.
