Please join us for the Boston Chapter's Annual meeting and dinner on
November 10, 2019
Belmont Country Club, 181 Winter Street, Belmont MA
Whether you are an AMC member who isn't yet active with the Boston Chapter, or a regular attendee of chapter trips and events, this social event has something for your: fine food; meet and socialize with other AMC members, volunteers, and staff; election of chapter officers for 2020; and a wonderful presentation with guest speaker Steve Elkinton.
Steve Elkinton worked for the National Park Service (NPS) and later became a program leader for the National Trails System activities throughout NPS, which grew from 16 to 30 national scenic and historic trails. NPS staff and volunteer groups in many states collaborated to establish a nationwide coalition of scenic and historic trail groups, now called the Partnership for the National Trails System, on which Steve serves as a board member. Steve will discuss the activities the National Trails support, including conservation, access to climbing/mountaineering, hiking and biking trails, and trails in or near urban areas. He'll also describe how the various parties addressed governmental, political, and social trends to ensure the legacy of the National Trails System.
Cocktail hour begins at 5:00pm with dinner at 6:00pm. Parking is free and abundant. Members receive a discounted rate of $35, with non-members paying $45.
