Join the Wednesday Wramblers for a fun day in beautiful Rhode Island as we enjoy a leisurely (10-12 mph) 32 mile bike ride (on road) that hits all the highlights of this beautiful corner of Little Rhody: ocean views, farms, cows and salt marshes. The terrain is rolling with a few hills (elevation gain of 1,356 feet) on mostly lightly traveled roads. We will have opportunities to stop for ice cream and for those with the time and inclination, a post-ride stop at Evelyn's Drive-In in Tiverton for seafood. Please be prepared with water, snacks, lunch and a bike in good condition as well as layers appropriate for the day's weather. Helmets are required.
Registration is required for this ride and we will be limiting the number of riders so please register early. Full trip information will be emailed to all registered participants on the Monday or Tuesday before the ride.
I began leading bike trips for the AMC in 1990 and led for ten years before taking a break. When I became active with the Forty Plus Committee I decided to start leading again. I took a refresher leadership course and Wilderness First Aid and now I am certified as a cross-country ski and bike leader. I have met many wonderful leaders and trip participants and Forty Plus has become one of my most enjoyable retirement activities.
