Join us for a Saturday hike up Mount Tecumseh, the lowest of the New Hampshire 4000 footers and named after a legendary Indian chief. We will ascend via the Mt Tecumseh Trail starting at Waterville Valley Ski Area the summit offers beautiful views. This is an introductory hike to the White Mountains, with 2200 feet of elevation gain and a distance of about 5 miles round trip. We will hike at a moderate pace (1.5-2.0 miles per hour) up a steady incline with some steep, but manageable sections. Participants should have previously completed a level 2 (Couch to 4K hike) or equivalent hike.
Note this hike is part of the Young Members Couch to 4k Program https://regi.amcboston.org/event/2360 which is a series of hikes intended to introduce participants to the basic skills and knowledge required for safe and fun outdoor experiences. Priority will be given to the program participants. Non-program participants will only be approved if there is spot available. At a moderate pace, we will hike about 5 hours with lunch and 2203 elevation gain.
I enjoy hiking local and in NH and I'm working on my 48 list. I'm also currently on the YM committee in charge of SOS postings. Ask me about the Couch to 4K hiking program!
I love hiking and white whater kayaking. And I only left one hike to finish my NH48 4k.
