Join us for a classic White Mountain Hike to Mounts Galehead and Garfield, and check two 4000-foot summits off your list. This is a long (13.5 mile), rugged hike, with a couple of stream crossings, but you'll be rewarded with some of the best views in the White Mountains. Mount Galehead (4,024 feet), a part of the Twin Range, offers views of nearby North and South Twin along the final approach to the summit, past the AMC's Galehead Hut. Not to be outdone, the wide-open summit of Mount Garfield (4,500 feet) offers spectacular views of the Pemigewasset Wilderness and Franconia Ridge. We'll stop along the way to take in the views, and to say hi to the crew in the Galehead hut.
Casey leads trips year around for the hiking/backpacking committee of the AMC Boston Chapter. He is heavily engaged in the H/B leadership and training programs such as Spring/Fall Leadership Training as well as our educational programs in the Spring and Winter Hiking Programs. Like other hikers that hike before sun up and after sun down and do 20+ miles, Casey likes to do the same only keep it under 10 miles :) He's experienced but not a speed daemon
