Join the 40 Plus Wednesday Wramblers for a 4.4 mile hike in the Blue Hills. We will be doing the Museum to Skyline Loop as listed in Alltrails.com We will start at the Trailside Museum where there is ample parking and restrooms. This hike is a classic Blue Hills hike with enough ups and downs to result in 1,256 feet of elevation gain. We will climb to the Eliot Tower and then do portions of both the North and South Skyline trail before looping back to the museum. When we are not looking down at our feet we will have plenty of views of Boston and the surrounding communities. Who knows what the weather will be so please check the forecast in advance and dress accordingly. Bring water, snacks, lunch, bug spray and hopefully, sunscreen. No microspikes will be harmed in the completion of this hike but portions of the trail can be muddy so make sure your boots are up to the task. After the hike some of us may stop at Dunkin Donuts for coffee or other treats. Time: 10:00 am - 2:30 PM
Please register so that I can alert everyone to any change of plans based on the weather. I will send out more details in an email the Monday or Tuesday before the hike.
I began leading bike trips for the AMC in 1990 and led for ten years before taking a break. When I became active with the Forty Plus Committee I decided to start leading again. I took a refresher leadership course and Wilderness First Aid and now I am certified as a cross-country ski and bike leader. I have met many wonderful leaders and trip participants and Forty Plus has become one of my most enjoyable retirement activities.
