Ever wondered what lies between the Carters and the Baldfaces? Join Jess and Nav for a Memorial Day weekend backpack in the Wild River Wilderness. Over three days, we'll plan to crisscross the Wild River Wildness twice, exploring some of the more remote landscape in the White Mountains. We'll plan to cover 7 to 13 miles each day, at a moderate pace, traversing birch-filled bottomlands and following scenic ridgelines, although few peaks are included in the planned itinerary. Participants should have experience with backpacking and be comfortable with stream crossings given the abundance of water in this area. Fee for the trip covers supper, although all will be expected to help carry group food and to contribute group gear (extra stoves, pots, etc) as able and as needed. Trip fee of $20 is refundable until group food has been purchased the weekend prior to the trip. Heavy rain may alter route plans. Group size limited to 10.
