Mount Watatic's short, well-marked and well-maintained trails make it a great destination for hikers just getting back on the trail, new to the sport or those looking for a quick workout or warm up for the season. Standing at 1,832 feet tall in the Wapack Mountain Range, Mt Watatic offers more strenuous hikes than the Middlesex Fells or Blue Hills, but less strenuous than the White Mountains. We'll aim for a moderate pace, 3.2-mile loop hike, with about 645 ft of elevation gain to the summit of Mount Watatic, hitting a lookout spot just beyond the summit, and looping around to Nutting Hill. On a clear day, we'll be able to see Mt Wachusett and Mt Monadnock from this trail.Directions:
