This trip is ONLY available to participants of the Spring Hiking Program. We will hike up Cannon Mountain (4080'), one of a limited number of 4000' White Mountain peaks that offer a 360-degree view. In Cannon's case, the centerpiece of the view is the spectacular Franconia range. The route up entails a few steep, rocky stretches and some exposed terrain on which to try your skills. There are some great views along the way, including the vista from the top of Cannon's famous cliff face, home of the former Old Man -- and as on only one other peak in the Whites, we will enjoy the services of a great summit lodge in addition to the views. The hike will comprise 4.2 miles round trip, with 2200' of elevation gain.

Casey leads trips year around for the hiking/backpacking committee of the AMC Boston Chapter. He is heavily engaged in the H/B leadership and training programs such as Spring/Fall Leadership Training as well as our educational programs in the Spring and Winter Hiking Programs. Like other hikers that hike before sun up and after sun down and do 20+ miles, Casey likes to do the same only keep it under 10 miles :) He's experienced but not a speed daemon
