This trip is ONLY available to participants of the Spring Hiking Program. We will offer hikes of different distances for groups going at different paces. Participants can choose their group. Hike lengths will vary between 4.5 miles and 7.5 miles. Weather allowing and everyone ok, groups will usually climb Monadnock, which involves 1600 ft of ascent (up to 2000 ft of ascent on the longer hikes), some of it over open and sometimes steep rock. The upper parts of Monadnock have fine views and it should be an enjoyable trip (weather cooperating). During the trip participants will have a chance to ask their leaders and coleaders questions about hiking and to get some extra tips on equipment, preparation, and hiking technique, including hiking on the terrain on Monadnock.
Morgane is a 4-season leader and has been leading trips with the AMC since 2016. She usually does day hikes and hikes at a moderate pace. She is currently working on her NH 4000 footers. She speaks fluent French if you ever want to get some practice on the trail!
Casey leads trips year around for the hiking/backpacking committee of the AMC Boston Chapter. He is heavily engaged in the H/B leadership and training programs such as Spring/Fall Leadership Training as well as our educational programs in the Spring and Winter Hiking Programs. Like other hikers that hike before sun up and after sun down and do 20+ miles, Casey likes to do the same only keep it under 10 miles :) He's experienced but not a speed daemon
