LETS HIKE GEORGETOWN-ROWLEY STATE FOREST/GEORGETOWN MA

We will hike about 4.5 miles in Georgetown-Rowley State Forest. The hike will begin at 12 pm from the parking area on Pingree Farm Road in Georgetown MA. Let's explore this over 1,100 acre forest with great views of beaver ponds and extensive woodland habitat. The hike will include a section of the Bay Circuit Trail and other woodland trails with open views of red maple swamps and large areas flooded by the beaver activity. We should have the opportunity to hear spring peepers and wood frogs. We will also pass a great blue heron nesting area. From I-95N take exit 53B (Rte. 97 west) towards Georgetown. Follow rte. 97 for 1.6 miles before taking a right onto Pingree Farm Rd. It is about 0.7 miles to the parking area.
