Join the Wednesday Wramblers for our first bike ride of the season. Starting in Ayer, we will bike the entire length of the Nashua River Rail Trail, a round-trip of 24 miles. This bike trail parallels the Nashua River and goes through farm land, wetlands and quiet residential neighborhoods with only 6 street crossings. On the return trip we will stop for ice cream at Charlotte's Cozy Kitchen in Pepperell.
We will meet at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 PM start. Please be sure that your bike is in good working condition with tires pumped up and no cobwebs from being stored all winter long. You will need to dress in layers and bring water and a snack. Helmets are required and please bring a tube that fits your bike in case of a flat.
Registration is required so that we can send more detailed information and let you know about any last minute changes.
I began leading bike trips for the AMC in 1990 and led for ten years before taking a break. When I became active with the Forty Plus Committee I decided to start leading again. I took a refresher leadership course and Wilderness First Aid and now I am certified as a cross-country ski and bike leader. I have met many wonderful leaders and trip participants and Forty Plus has become one of my most enjoyable retirement activities.
