Join the Wednesday Wramblers as we explore Callahan State Park in Framingham. We will meet at the parking lot at 1048 Edmands Road, Framingham and explore approximately 6 miles of trails primarily in the northern section of the park. We will hike through open fields and around Beebe Pond. The total elevation gain for this hike is 696 feet. Depending on the weather, microspikes or other traction devices may be required. Trekking poles are optional. Please dress in layers and bring water and a snack or lunch. We may gather for coffee or lunch afterwards depending on the interests of the group. There is no restroom at the trail head so please plan accordingly. No dogs please.
I began leading bike trips for the AMC in 1990 and led for ten years before taking a break. When I became active with the Forty Plus Committee I decided to start leading again. I took a refresher leadership course and Wilderness First Aid and now I am certified as a cross-country ski and bike leader. I have met many wonderful leaders and trip participants and Forty Plus has become one of my most enjoyable retirement activities.
