Using the Harvard Cabin (the low one, on Rt. 16) as our base, we will set out on hikes in the Pinkham Notch or nearby areas of the White Mountains. This rustic cabin has an upstairs sleeping loft (sleeping bags/pads on a shared floor space), an outhouse, cold running water. Simple but fun! Exact hikes TBD depending on leaders and participants interests, latest weather/trail conditions reports, and participants abilities. On Saturday, we will likely offer a moderate/more strenuous 4,000 footer. On Sunday, we might go for another 4,000'er or often we opt for a shorter hike on the way home (perhaps a 52 With A View peak). You will help us as we prepare breakfast, and dinner on Saturday and a breakfast on Sunday. Trip fee of $80/members and $85/non-members includes two breakfasts, one dinner, (planned and shopped for by the leaders, but prepared and cleaned up with the help of all participants).
Casey leads trips year around for the hiking/backpacking committee of the AMC Boston Chapter. He is heavily engaged in the H/B leadership and training programs such as Spring/Fall Leadership Training as well as our educational programs in the Spring and Winter Hiking Programs. Like other hikers that hike before sun up and after sun down and do 20+ miles, Casey likes to do the same only keep it under 10 miles :) He's experienced but not a speed daemon
