Join Family Outings to explore Walden Pond in Concord, MA. Meet on the porch of the Visitor Center at 8:30 am for a hike around the pond and to explore the trails. At 10 am when the Visitor's Center opens option for 10 minute Ranger talk on Thoreau after which the group can watch a 20 miute Ken Burns film. Then option to head off for coffee and donuts and more at Family Outings New Year Celebration and Equipment Sale at Thoreau Center in Concord (see post below or check out this link for more info and to register: https://activities.outdoors.org/search/index.cfm/action/details/id/108940).
Hike is free but Walden Pond charges $8 per car for MA plates or $15 non MA plates (Payment is via machine). Parking is free with $10 MA lifetime Senior Pass (age 62+) which can be purchased at Visitor's Center. Please feel free to invite Grandma and Grandpa :).

Brian is a seasoned hiker and backpacker. His interests are fitness and nature, with a strong fondness for urban parks and anything involving the Olmsteads..thats right ..it was a family business. Brian enjoys leading urban walking trips as well as 4 season trips for families in Boston and new Hampshire. Both backpacks as well as hikes are interesting and fun for children and their families. Within the last year, he has been involved with shelter, hut and all season experiences in the whites.
