Join the Wednesday Wramblers for a 7 mile loop around the Whitehall Reservoir in Hopkinton MA. This hike takes us around the perimeter of the reservoir with almost constant views of the water. Although mostly flat, there are a number of short ups and downs and you may want to have your trekking poles handy for balance. We will also get views of some very nice, new residential development. Please bring water, snacks and layers appropriate for the day's weather. Depending on conditions microspikes or other traction devices may be required. We will go out for lunch or coffee after the hike.
Our meeting spot is the parking lot at 300 Wood Street in Hopkinton. There are no restrooms at the trailhead but there is a Cumberland Farms (91 W.Main Street) as well as a Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks on West Main Street.
Please arrive at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM departure. We are asking people to register in advance so we can send out a reminder and any weather-related updates at the last minute.
I began leading bike trips for the AMC in 1990 and led for ten years before taking a break. When I became active with the Forty Plus Committee I decided to start leading again. I took a refresher leadership course and Wilderness First Aid and now I am certified as a cross-country ski and bike leader. I have met many wonderful leaders and trip participants and Forty Plus has become one of my most enjoyable retirement activities.
