Winter Waumbek Hike, overnight stay in Gorham with hot tub!

AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the AMC liability waiver, online registration is required for all in person AMC events.

Trip dates: Saturday, February 2, 2019 12:00 AM to Sunday, February 3, 2019 12:00 AM

Build or maintain winter hiking skills and experience (or work on your winter 48 summits or grid) with a moderately-paced winter hike to Mt. Waumbek. On the way, we'll tag Starr King (52 with a view). Aimed at previous or current Winter Hiking Program participants, this 7.2 miles, 2900-foot elevation gain hike will offer an opportunity to summit a 4,000 footer in winter with little above-treeline exposure. Previous winter hiking experience, good fitness level, and full winter gear required. Includes option to stay at a local hotel (with a hot tub!) before/after the hike and a post-hike group dinner, both at participant's cost.
