Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course will help you prepare for the unexpected. This fast paced, hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. It will introduce you to caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning.
Please join us for a winter hike to Mt. Garfield's 4,500 foot summit where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding Franconia Ridge and Franconia and Lincoln Brooks valleys. We'll cover 12.5 miles and 3,000 vertical feet, at a moderate pace. The trail follows a former fire tower access road with one area of steep pitch just below the summit. For this 7th section of the Cohos Trail, we'll car camp Friday night in Groveton, NH before splitting into 2 groups and starting our 3 day backpack. Areas we pass through include Nash Stream Forest, Dixville Notch (home to the magnificent Balsams Resort) and Coleman State Park.

Please join us for a day hike over the northernmost 4,000 footer and two peaks on NE 100 highest list. If conditions permit, we'll travel 12 miles and gain/lose 3,000 feet of elevation. There is a good chance that we'll encounter slippery conditions, melting snow, muddy trails and early insects, so please be prepared for just about anything the mountains may have to offer. Please be an experienced hiker in good physical condition.
This hike is friendly to friendly, well behaved canines.

Spend a fun weekend at the Lonesome Lake Hut before the snow starts to fly. Hike up to Kinsman Pond and summit N. Kinsman.
