Easy/moderate day hike up Mounts Morgan and Percival in the NH Lakes Region

Saturday, November 14, 2015 12:00 AM

Join us for a late fall hike up these two small peaks (2220' and 2212') in Holderness, NH, with great views of the lakes from the summits of each. Beginning at the Mount Percival trailhead, we'll hike the 5.5 miles over both summits, with 1575' cumulative elevation gain. The terrain is mostly gradual, with occasional steep, rocky sections that can require some scrambling. One section of the trail has some ledges with ladders and a cave that we'll pass through on the way to the summit, with a nearby detour for those who prefer it.

Ski Trail Work at Mt Cardigan

Sunday, November 15, 2015 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM

That chill in the air means Winter is Coming! We are Boston and New Hampshire Chapters planning to work on backcountry ski trails on Mt Cardigan. We work in groups of 5-7 to clear blowdowns and cut new growth for smooth skiing next season. If you have tools (loppers and/or hand saw), bring it or we have tools to lend. You will need work gloves, boots, pack with water & lunch, and clothing for being outside all day. Its a great workout and a great cause. Cardigan has some of the best backcountry ski trails close to Boston for all abilities.
