Blue Hills - 5 mile brisk-paced hike along yellow triangle trail with rolling hills, 10:30am-1:30pm. Meet at Houghton's Pond parking lot. Bring lunch and water. Storm cancels.
This program is for AMC members who are interested in organizing and leading Boston Chapter trips and activities. Participation in the program qualifies you to co-lead trips and activities for Hiking/Backpacking, Bike, Ski, Young Members, Forty Plus, Family Outings, Paddling and other Boston committees. The program consists of lectures, small group exercises and role-play scenarios spread over two evening sessions and one weekend session, with a follow-on session to organize actual trips. Topics include trip planning and trip organization, safety, leadership styles, and group dynamics.
Join us for a night of board games and card games at Joy Street! Bring your favorite board game or come to play something you haven't before. Game night will run from 6:30 pm to 9 pm, come for whatever time frame works for you. Food will not be served, though you are welcome to bring in food or snacks.
Shannon is a 3-season leader with Young Members. She's happy to lead hikes, backpacks, and nordic ski trips in the whites or locally. She'll also recite a poem if you request it.
See water lotus in bloom, authors' graves and other Concord wonders on slow-paced, 5 mile ramble. Meet 10:00am. From Concord center take Monument Street 0.5 miles to North Bridge parking area on right. Bring lunch, water and sturdy rambling shoes. No dogs. Non-AMC members, $1.
Join us for a 17-mile ride through Acton, Boxborough, Harvard, and Stow. Rolling terrain. Ride will be moderate (13-15mph) leaving promptly at 6pm, Douglas School parking lot, 21 Elm St. Acton. No advance sign-up necessary. Helmet, water, spare tube, and bike in good working order required. Probably a good idea to have visible front and back lights. Rain cancels, check this website for a cancellation notice. Please arrive by 5:45pm so that you can get your bike ready. We leave promptly at 6pm.
AMC Boston Family Outings Planning Meeting with light supper provided (please bring potluck appetizers and beverages) at 4:30 PM with meeting 5 PM - 6 PM. Everyone welcome. Children welcome. Tuesday evening road ride starting at Duck Feeding Area (intersection 95/30) in Newton. 10-13mph. Meet at 5:45 pm for a 6:00 pm start. Helmet required. Rain cancels. Dinner at local spot may follow ride. Ride thru Wellesley and Weston.

Directions: From North or South: Take Rte. 3 to Exit 11. Exit roundabout at 2nd turn from either direction which is Congress/West Street for 1.8 miles. (stay right at fork,continuing on West St.). Straight at traffic light onto St. George Street 1.1 miles to Washington Street, Left for 30 yards and then immediate right onto Powder Point Road. 1.0 mile to the Powder Point Bridge Parking lot before bridge.

Wear sneakers with good treads or hiking shoes. Bring water, snacks, and bug repellent. No children or dogs. Heavy rain cancels. Call leader if uncertain. $1 charge if not AMC member. Afterwards, enjoy a pizza or another dish at nearby Alta Strada. Enter campus from Route 135, main entrance, at the traffic light. Follow signs for the visitor's parking garage.
