AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the AMC liability waiver, online registration is required for all in person AMC events.

In November of 2015, new officers of the Chapter Executive Committee will be elected at the annual meeting. The Chapter has appointed a subcommittee (the Nominating Committee) to receive and review nominations from the membership at large. The Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for the following four positions:
•Chapter Chair
•Chapter Vice Chair
•Treasurer
•Secretary
We will walk from the South end of Prospect Park along the ridge to the peak in the park. The walk has great views of downtown Boston and Waltham. This is a beautiful wooded area.

36/54/71 rolling miles with 26 mile self-led option. Be ready to bike at 9:45am from Needham Junction MBTA Commuter Rail Lot at Chestnut and Junction Streets in Needham. Seewww.mbta.com for detailed directions, note that T lots now charge for parking on weekends, usually $4 cash. Show-and-go ride. Sustained rain cancels. No registration is required if capable of 26 & 36 mi ride at 10-13 mph, 54 mi ride at 13-15 and 72 mi ride at 14-16 mph.
Fast-paced 5-mile hike through remote areas including views from ledges and water views, 11:15am-2:30pm. Bring lunch/water. From north: Rte. 93 S to exit 32 (Rte. 60). Take right on Rte. 60 west and stay on Rte. 60 through Medford Center. 1 mile from exit off Rte. 93, bear right at rotary onto Rte. 38 north. After 1 mile, take left on Playstead Road and park on road along stone wall. From south: Rte. 93 N to exit 31 (Mystic Valley Parkway/Rte. 16). After 1 mile, take right on Winthrop Street (Rte. 38 north) then bear left at rotary to continue on Rte. 38 north.
Tuesday Evening Ride. Starting in Lexington, 15 mile road ride. Moderate pace 11-13mph. Meet at 5:45 for a 6pm departure, dinner often follows. Lights, helmet and flat repair required. Meet at the Minuteman Statue, Lexington, intersection of Mass Ave and Bedford St., Rtes. 4/225. No registration necessary. Rain cancels.
The Mystic River Watershed Association is a science-based non-profit organization, monitoring water quality, advocating for improvements and encouraging increased access to and recreation on the Mystic River. A major summer initiative is to remove the water chestnut. If nothing is done, this invasive will completely spread over the river, altering the aquatic life and preventing recreational uses of the river. Your efforts are part of a broader decade long effort to restore the river to a native and diverse habitat.
Come celebrate summer with our second summer party on rooftop deck at Joy St Thursday Sept 8th from 6:30 to 9 PM. Meet new and old friends, learn about some great Young Members events & trips being offered this summer, and enjoy food cooked on the grill. In case of rain, the party will move into the auditorium. YM will provide burgers, hot dogs and other items for the grill, and sides as well as both alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages. You are invited to bring a side-dish or dessert to share.
Easy walk, mostly woods, across a dam & thru a meadow, 1:00-3:00pm. From Rte. 95/128 exit 16B, take Rte. 109 W 1.2 mi., R on Dover Rd. 0.3 mi., R on Carby St. 0.6 mi. to Cat Rock pkg. lot. Rain cancels. No dogs, non-AMC members $1.
Meet at 1:00pm in the parking lot on Middleton Rd. in Boxford, at the steel gate. Take Rte. 95 and use exit 51 on the Topsfield-Boxford line. Go west (left if heading north, right if heading south on 95) and then an immediate right on Middleton Rd. Go about 1 mile to parking area on left. Easy terrain. moderate pace, kids and dogs welcome, time about 2 hours.
