3 Days Backpack around Cranberry Lake (AA3C)

Saturday, September 5, 2015 12:00 AM to Monday, September 7, 2015 12:00 AM

3-day 50 mile backpacking trip around Cranberry Lake, one of the three largest lakes in the Adirondacks. The lake is located in the remote northwestern region away from the madding crowds of the high peaks region. It is famous for its wildlife and pristine views from all around the trail loop. The terrain is relatively flat with only ~1000 feet of elevation gain for the entire 50 miles! The only obstacles we are likely to encounter are flooded footpaths from beaver dams.

Peaks-to-Ponds Advanced Adirondacks Backpack (A3B)

Tuesday, June 30, 2015 12:00 AM to Monday, July 6, 2015 12:00 AM

Scenic, fun and challenging 65-mile traverse of the High Peaks Wilderness starting in the Great Range and ending at Long Lake. Trip plans may change based on conditions and group make-up, but, as of now, include tagging peaks (the Wolfjaws, Armstrong, Gothic, Saddleback, Marcy, Skylight) and visiting remote Wallface and Scott ponds before following the Northville Placid Trail along the picturesque Cold River to end at Long Lake. Rated 'advanced' due to remote location, moderately-high daily mileage (avg. 12 mi/day in mtns.), steep/muddy/flooded terrain and non-technical climbing.

Saturday, July 12, 2014 12:00 AM

The Great Range of the Adirondacks passes over 11 mountains leading straight into the heart of the high peaks wilderness and ending on Mt. Marcy, the highest mountain in New York State. This is among the most beautiful and most demanding hiking routes in the country, stretching 25 miles and ascending over 10,000' (with the entire ascent in the first 16 miles) and we'll be doing it in a single day to boot.

Adirondacks - 7 peaks in 3 days (AA2B)

Friday, July 26, 2013 12:00 AM to Sunday, July 28, 2013 12:00 AM

Would you like a change of scenery from the mountains of New England? Come join us for an introduction to the mountains in the Adirondacks. We will be hiking 4000 foot peaks in the High Peaks region. While this is not a backpacking trip, we will be staying at the Adirondack LOJ, making that our base camp and closer to the peaks for day hikes. The plan is to hike three days Friday, Saturday and Sunday to seven 4000 foot peaks. We are looking for hikers who hike regularly to 4000 foot peaks and are looking to experience the rugged mountains in the Adirondacks.
