Mission Statement

AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the AMC liability waiver, online registration is required for all in person AMC events.

The AMC Boston Chapter Trails Committee works in partnership with local public and private non-profit groups to build and maintain walking trails in local parks and conservation land.

The objective is for the trail work activities to encourage volunteerism for trails, to protect natural resources, and to allow enjoyment of these resources by our members and the public.  Trail work activities will be conducted in accordance with the values and goals of the AMC.

Since 1995 we have been working with metropolitan area organizations that include the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), National Park Service, Bay Circuit Alliance, Friends of the Middlesex Fells, New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA), Sudbury Valley Trustees, New England Forestry Foundation, Mass Audubon and The Trustees of Reservations.
